Individual, Couple and Family Therapy
Northern Cities Therapy provides individual, family and couple therapy for children (ages 6+), adolescents and adults. Our therapists are trained to work with clients on clincial areas (but not limited to) the following; anxiety, depression, stress, family conflict, relationship challenges, trauma (PTSD), OCD, substance use, grief & loss, life transitions, work struggles, ADHD, anger, autism, parenting, codependency, social skills, personal growth and self improvement. Our therapists are trained a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Mindfulness, Sand Tray Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman Method, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, etc. Refer to our individual provider bios to learn more about what we are each trained in.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), is an evidence-based, strengths-based approach that provides skills to support clients in building a life worth living. Northern Cities Therapy has multiple therapists trained in DBT. Client will have the opportunity to meet with a therapist individually and/or in a group setting to learn DBT skills they can immediately apply to their life.
Currently, Northern Cities Therapy is offering an Adolescent DBT group at our St. Francis office location.
The DBT group is comprised of 4 modules: Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectivness and Mindfulness Skills. Distress Tolerance Skills will help strengthen existing coping skills and teach additional ways to manage distressing events in life. Emotion Regulation skills will teach group members how to identify, understand and effectively manage emotions. Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills help clients improve communication with others and increase the ability to advocate for oneself. Mindfulness Skills improve the ability to be in the present moment and more effectively and efficiently engage in tasks and activities.

Chemical Health Assessments
Northern Cities Therapy provides Comprehensive Assessments (also known as Chemical Health Assessment, Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Assessments and Rule 25 assessments) to those seeking them for personal, professional or legal reasons. Clients will be interviewed regarding their substance use and mental health and how these issues currently and previously impacted their life. Following the appointment, with the asessor that will take place either in person or virtually; clients will be provided with a copy of their assessment to utilize as needed. Clients are welcome to pay with cash or use their insurance (if covered) to cover the assessment cost.
